Abstract:

Integration of global positioning system (GPS) and inertial navigation system (INS) is used in airborne gravimetry to gravity field recovery. Since GPS computed position is noisy therefore the GPS ACCELERATION which is the result of twice differentiation of GPS position will be too noisy as well. In this paper IIR low-pass filter and Kalman filter are used to smoothing the GPS ACCELERATION and their result compared to B-spline smoother result. B-spline smoothing accuracy is reported about 1mGal in this paper data, therefore B-spline smoothing considered as a reference smoothing method. The correlation of IIR low-pass filter and Kalman filter results with B-spline smoothing result is about 97.55 and 99.83 percent, respectively. It shows that the Kalman filter result is closer to B-spline smoother. On the other hand, along with ease of design of IIR lowpass filter some other advantages such as fast computing algorithm in signal processing unlimited response hit and less memory requirement are worth mentioning. Therefore, in project with huge among of data the IIR low-pass filter could be efficient and causes the time and cost saving. Mentioned smoothing methods can also be used in INS instrumental noise reduction. Therefore, less accurate INS can be used in integration with GPS, which causes the INS cost saving and project productivity promotion.

Abstract:

This paper suggests modified proportional navigation (PN) with a weighted combination of linear ACCELERATION and line-of-sight (LOS) ACCELERATION feedback. For this purpose, a comprehensive miss distance analysis is carried out for PN with linear ACCELERATION feedback and PN with LOS ACCELERATION feedback using a fifth-order binomial guidance and control system. The miss distance (MD) due to initial heading error, target ACCELERATION, and seeker noise are separately analyzed. A modified PN with ACCELERATION feedback using variable gains is suggested based on MD analysis for infrared seekers as a special case. The PN strategies are compared using an equivalent effective navigation ratio, defined using the LOS rate profile solution. In addition, the first-order optimal guidance law is converted into PN with PD block with variable gains.

Abstract:

In general, seismic attenuation is caused by a combination of both scattering and intrinsic mechanisms. Scattering redistributes wave energy within the medium but does not remove energy from the overall wave field. In contrast, intrinsic attenuation mechanisms convert wave energy to heat through friction, viscosity, and thermal relaxation processes. The frequency-domain spectral decay method is employed to estimate frequency dependence value of Qs.We used foreshock, main-shock and aftershock of Darb-e-Astane earthquake ACCELERATION data with magnitude of 5.1, 6.1 and 4.9 for estimation at 1.5, 3, 6, 12 and 24 Hz central frequencies, respectively. The estimated average frequency dependence shear wave quality factor gives the relation Qs= (109±6) ƒ (0.5±0.08). Shear wave quality factor are increasing from 156 to 592 at frequency band of 1-2 Hz and 16-32 Hz, respectively. The Q0 value with frequency for this area is similar to those obtained for similar tectonically active regions in the world.

Abstract:

Introduction: Use of different methods for GnRH administration in ART cycles is a controversy.Microdose regimens in poor- responder patients are very useful and this has been determined by some studies, but it is not clear how this regimen affects patients with first (IVF/ICSI) cycle. Materials & Methods: In a prospective, randomized, clinical trial study at The Research and Clinical Center for Infertility and Madar Hospital, Yazd, we compared 140 patients who were candidates for IVF/ICSI for the first time. 70 patients received Microdose flare (A Group) and 70 patients were administered GnRH in long luteal PHASE (B group). Number of oocytes, follicles, embryos and the pregnancy outcome were compared in both groups. In microdose group, after administration of 21 contraceptive pills in the last cycle from day 3 , GnRH was given to patients ( 0.05 cc twice a day) and H MG from day 5 (3 vials a day). In long protocol, the patients received 0.5 cc Buserelin daily from day 21 subcutaneously and with the beginning of bleeding , the dosage was decreased to half. HMG was given three times a day. As the follow up of some patients was difficult and their pregnancy outcome was unknown, 14 patients of A group and 3 patients of B group were left out from the study. The data was analyzed by chi-square and T test. Results: Number of oocytes, embryos and outcome of pregnancy were not different the in two groups. However, the number of mature follicles in long method was higher but not significant statistically. Conclusion: The Microdose flare regimen thus offers no further advantage for patients with first cycle of IVF/ICSI.

Abstract:

The effects of pH (4,4.5 and 5), inoculum level (102 and 104), temperature (5,15,25,35 and 45 0C)and type of the food (barley or mushroom soup) on lag PHASE of growth of Staphylococcus aureus in packet commercial Iranian soups (barley and mushroom) were evaluated as a factorial design study. The lag PHASE of growth of this bacteria was affected significantly (P<0.05) by the variables of "Temperature", "Inoculum" and 2-way interaction of "Inoculum x Temperature" but not by kind of soup used in this study. Regression equation was derived relating lag PHASE of growth to "Temperature", "Inoculum" and 2-way interaction of "Inoculum x Temperature". From this model the values of predicted tag PHASE of growth of Staphylococcus aureus can be calculated from any combination of the factors in this study (R2 = 0.952).
